The Brawn #9 has a 9 1/8” outside jaw spread and comes in two models; 7/16” offset laminated jaws or with rubber padded jaws. The traps unique spring design incorporates an acceleration ramp to speed the jaws up. The Brawn is built like a tank and the jaws lay very flat. It has an adjustable dogless pan design along with four very heavy coil springs. The trap is center swiveled with an extra heavy duty D-ring. An excellent choice for wolves and lions. The chain is free (upon request) but is not attached to the trap as many wolfers prefer to design their own chain systems.
Optional chain --(Free with trap purchase upon request) is 24” of #5 chain with a wolf swivel coming off of each end. Chains only if purchased separately.
What is the difference between a regular and offset jaw?
When the trap is in the fired position and you are looking straight down on the trap if the jaws touch together it is a regular or closed jaw trap. If there is a gap where the jaws meet that is called an offset jaw trap.
What is the difference between a 2-coil or 4-coil trap?
A 2-coil trap has a pair of main springs on the same side as the dog. A 4-coil trap has a second pair of springs on the opposite side as the dog. Typically, most 4-coil springs are smaller in size than the main springs.
